Shajapur, Regional MP Mahendra Singh Solanki, while presiding over the meeting of the District Level Development Coordinator and Monitoring Committee (Disha) in the presence of public representatives including MLA Shri Arun Bhimavad on 3rd February, had directed the District Magistrates to ensure that the works with more than 80% completion Should be completed by March. Not even 2 days had passed since the instructions were given to them that from February 5, the administrative officials, going in the opposite direction to the instructions of the MP, stopped the construction work of the Shajapur bus stand which was almost 90% completed. Where another public representative works tirelessly for the development of the area. And keeping in view the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, they want to complete as many development works as possible and dedicate them to the public. However, due to the negligence of administrative officials, many incomplete big works are hanging in the middle instead of moving towards completion. No one has time to take care of it. While the administrative officers are continuously busy in meetings, they are all running around. And they are seen working day and night but the reality on the ground seems to be different.

Contractor raised his hands due to lack of payment

The work of Shajapur bus stand is almost 90% complete but the municipality has not paid the contractor for the last 6 months. Due to this the contractor has refused to do further work and now I do not have any money to hire labour. There is no payment left. So now I can't work any further. Despite repeated reminders to the municipal administration, my payment has not been made and now I am unable to work.

NAPA did not even give Rs 18 lakh to traders
Although the municipal administration had made an agreement with the traders to get the shop ready in 18 months, it is incomplete even today, 7 months after the expiry of the period in June 2023. And the Municipal Corporation has not been able to give the shop to the traders. One installment of the cost price had already been deposited by the traders and now the Municipality has recovered the second installment by promising to give the shop in two months. But the traders are still sitting empty handed and are feeling cheated. Those who have made the payment have not yet received the shop. Not only this, the municipality has not paid the amount received from them to the contractor till date.

Traders and area residents are facing huge problems

Around 150 families dependent on the shopkeepers doing business inside the bus stand are in crisis of livelihood. Besides, the residents of the area are also facing a lot of problems due to lack of bus stand. In a small place where a bus stand is currently being operated, people are facing a lot of problems. And bus operators and passengers are currently facing problems due to lack of bus stand.

A plan was made to plant flax after spending crores of rupees.

The under-construction building of the bus stand may not be of any use, but along with enhancing the beauty of the flex of the leaders, it has also become a medium of publicity for the captains of the city and various publicity including government schemes is going on very well from here.
