Mumbai: Late NCP leader Baba Siddiqui's son and former Mumbai Youth Congress president Zeeshan Siddiqui has also followed in his father's footsteps and joined Ajit Pawar's NCP. As soon as he joined NCP, Ajit Pawar also declared him the party's candidate from Bandra East seat. During this, many senior leaders including party president Ajit Pawar were also present.

Zeeshan Siddiqui claims victory

After joining NCP, Zeeshan Siddiqui said that this is an emotional day for me and my family. I am grateful to Ajit Pawar, Praful Patel, Sunil Tatkare for believing in me in this difficult time. I have got the ticket from Bandra East. I am sure that with the love and support of all the people, I will definitely win Bandra East again.

Zeeshan Siddiqui accused Congress of cheating

Zeeshan Siddiqui said that Mahavikas Aghadi announced its ticket but gave its sitting seat to Shiv Sena (UBT), this is very unfortunate. For the last several days, some leaders of Congress, Mahavikas Aghadi were in touch with me. Some were saying that they will make it unopposed, some were saying that you should wait but cheating is in their (Congress) nature. My father had an unfulfilled dream that we have to win this seat, we have to fight for the rights of the people. He was killed while fighting this battle and I have his blood in my veins and I will continue to fight his battle in future too. We will win it (Bandra East seat) with record votes.
