Maihar, Madhya Pradesh government has established the School Education Department with the aim of educating all the students and citizens in the state. The School Education Department discharges the assigned responsibilities through state level offices / institutions. Heads of departments have been appointed in these offices - in which Commissioner of Public Education has been appointed for Directorate of Public Instruction Bhopal Madhya Pradesh.

The Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI) Department, Madhya Pradesh, focuses on the upliftment of school education in the state and equips children with specific knowledge, skills and values ​​so that they can become good human beings and productive, socially responsible citizens and can achieve whatever excellence they want. But due to the poor system of education by the Madhya Pradesh government, recruitment was issued for 8720 posts in May 2023 in the supply of teachers, in which there were 3668 backlog and 5052 fresh posts. There were 8720 posts in two departments, 7591 in School Education Department and 1129 in Tribal Education Department.

These posts are for 16 subjects, when 5052 posts are divided into SC ST OBC EWS and General, then there are only 2 to 3 posts in all categories.

The exam was conducted in August 2023, the result of which was released in February 2024.

The candidates have agitated 8 times in Bhopal for the increase in posts and have also agitated once in Delhi on 9 August.

The demand for increase in posts by the candidates is not a new demand, there has been an increase in posts earlier as well:

1. In the Higher Secondary Teacher Recruitment 2018, recruitment was done for 17000 posts, in which there was an increase of 7000 posts.

2. In the Secondary Teacher Recruitment 2018, recruitment was done for 4000 posts, in which there was an increase of 3000 posts.

3. In the primary teacher recruitment 2020, recruitment was announced for 5000 posts in which 11000 posts were increased.

Now we will sit on a dharna in Neelam Park in Bhopal until we get assurance of increase in posts. The dharna will continue till the demand is met.
