Indore Police has taken a big action against drug smuggling and arrested many smugglers with MD drug and brown sugar. This campaign was carried out jointly by the teams of Crime Branch and local police stations. Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotia informed that the Crime Branch caught two smugglers with 105 grams of MD drug from Rajkumar Sabzi Mandi area. The arrested accused include Roshan Kumawat resident Ram Kamal Residency and Raju Jat resident Navada Panth Dhar Road. Both these accused had brought MD drug to Indore to sell. Interrogation of them is going on so that other people associated with this smuggling network can be reached.

Contract given to sell brown sugar
Along with this action, Khajrana, Dwarkapuri and Padhrinath police also launched a campaign against brown sugar smuggling. Khajrana police caught Shahnawaz alias Shabbu from Tanzeem Nagar with about 12.5 grams of brown sugar. Dwarkapuri police arrested Sachin alias Bachu Bakwale, from whom 5.5 grams of brown sugar was recovered. Padhrinath police arrested an accused named Lucky, who was found selling brown sugar in an empty ground in front of Gautampura Government School. Lucky revealed during interrogation that a person from the area used to give him brown sugar for Rs 700 per day. Police is now searching for that person.

Police gathering information about the entire network
These cases of drug smuggling have exposed the growing threat of drug addiction in the city. Police said that their campaign will continue till the entire network of smuggling is dismantled. Efforts are being made to catch other smugglers and their associates by obtaining information from the arrested accused. Police say that strict action will be taken to eradicate the drug business from its roots. Also, the police have appealed to the citizens to be vigilant in such cases and immediately inform the police about any suspicious activity. This collective effort will not only discourage smugglers but will also help in making Indore a drug-free and safe city.
