Opposition parties, including the Congress, are insulting the mandate and questioning constitutional institutions: Dr. Arun Chaturvedi
BJP's Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy campaign
Udaipur: A press conference was organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Udaipur, at the BJP's media center located at Patel Circle, which was addressed by Dr. Arun Chaturvedi, Chairman of the Finance Commission in the Rajasthan Government and former State President. While addressing the journalists, Dr. Arun Chaturvedi said that to make the countrymen aware of the Congress's efforts to stop the country's development and to hurt the public's trust, and to expose the Congress's lies, the Bharatiya Janata Party started the Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy campaign from October 22nd, which will continue till November 5th. He said that the main objective of the special electoral revision, about which false propaganda is being done, is to bring accuracy in the voter lists. If a voter has died or a voter has changed his place, then such name should not be in the voter list. Also, the person who is not a citizen of India because the Indian Constitution gives the right to vote only to the citizen of India, the name of such person who is not a citizen of India but for some reason has got his name included in the voter list, should be removed from the voter list because the right to elect the government of the country is only with the citizens of India and not with foreign intruders.
Mr. Chaturvedi said that it is not that SIR is happening for the first time in the country, even before this the country has gone through SIR twelve times, out of which Congress was in power 10 times.
He said that since the launch of SIR on June 24, 2025, names of 2.37 crore new young voters have been added. Today there are 17.38 crore young voters in the voter list and every month about 20 lakh young voters are being added to the voter list.
Opposition parties including Congress are spreading lies about deletion of 13 crore names. More than 20 lakh booth level officers in the country have verified door to door deletion of names is not easy and names cannot be deleted arbitrarily. The last SIR was conducted in 2002-2003. In this action being conducted after more than 20 years, there were 2.80 crore dead voters whose names have been deleted. There were 6.3 crore voters who changed their residence. There were 1 crore voters whose names were registered at two places and 3 crore voters were found who were not found there and no information was received about them. It is worth noting that the names were not deleted but were marked.
In this process, more than 20 lakh BLOs and almost twice the number of political workers (BLAs) who are from every party at the booth level are involved. They have the voter list in front of them. Then how by raising questions on this campaign, Congress is questioning its own workers who work at the booth level.
He said that you tell me whether vote theft is possible, Congress leaders say that if vote theft is there then they lose at one booth and how can Budh Parvat win at another, they lose in one state and how can they win in another state, where they win there is a mandate and where they lose they call it vote theft, why do they not obey the orders of the public.
Mr. Chaturvedi said that from the roll to the counting, there is participation of opposition leaders and workers, then how can there be vote theft, this is not vote theft, the public has stopped voting for thieves, the result of which is that when the opposition people including Congress lose, then by making excuses for their defeat, the electoral process in which the common people cast their votes is questioned.
He said that on the night of 25 June 1975, Emergency was declared in the country. This Emergency ended on 21 March 1977. On 12 June 1975, the Allahabad High Court declared the 1971 Lok Sabha elections of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi as normal on the basis of electoral irregularities. Amidst this political crisis, Emergency was declared on the night of 25 June. During the Emergency, extensive restrictions were imposed on civil liberties, freedom of press and political activities. Many opposition leaders including Jayaprakash Narayan, Morarji Desai, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani were arrested and put in jail.
Section 356 was used the most during the Congress rule, in which Indira Gandhi imposed President's rule 50 times, Pandit Nehru 17 times and Rajiv Gandhi six times.
He said that today the country is moving towards self-reliance in the defence sector. Today we have become the number one country selling weapons to Europe. We are making many indigenous warheads and aircraft. Our dominance is being established in the world. Be it our high-flying Chandrayaan mission, Mangalyaan mission, Surya mission, Gaganyaan or the world record of ISRO sending 104 satellites into space simultaneously, all these are the result of India's growing strength.
Today, anyone who attacks India cannot sit at home and be happy because now the government does not send dossiers, does not provide evidence, but strengthens them by making them face the consequences and our soldiers enter our homes and die. The world saw our Operation Sindoor, this is the result of our strength, capability and efficient leadership.
Dr. Chaturvedi said that a coalition is working to derail India from becoming self-reliant and its connection with the Congress is becoming public. Recently, the prestigious Fox magazine did a research and wrote a big article in which it clearly wrote that the Congress and its leaders are in collusion with the organizations spreading unity in the world.
It seems that Congress is unable to digest the progress of the country and the faith of the people in its leadership, hence it wants to create an atmosphere of chaos in the country and put a question mark on democracy in the country.
He directly questioned the Congress whether it wants the names of foreign infiltrators who have been included in the country's voter list not to be removed?
Does Congress want to continue the loot of the country by casting votes in the name of voters who have gone to other places?
Does Congress want a country's democracy to be controlled by foreign powers?
Does Congress want to stop the progress of the country by spreading autocracy?
Congress should tell the people of the country what its agreement is with China?
Congress should tell whether its name has appeared in Focus magazine in the Red Green alliance with the anarchist organization, is it a part of that alliance?
Congress should clearly tell the people of the country that if the SIR is wrong then what is its opinion on the 10 SIRs that took place during its tenure before that..?
