Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem's Instagram account blocked in India
Why did the Olympic champion get involved?
After the Pahalgam attack, India has taken several strict steps against Pakistan. India has blocked the YouTube channels and Instagram accounts of many Pakistani athletes, cricketers and TV artists. In this episode, Olympic champion Pakistani javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem has also come under its influence. His Instagram account has been blocked in India due to a legal request after the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
Those trying to open Nadeem's Instagram account in India are getting this message, 'This account is not available in India. This decision was taken after a legal request to this effect.' On clicking on the legal request, it is written, 'We received a legal request to ban this account. We reviewed it against our policies and conducted a legal and human rights assessment. After review, we restricted access to the content in the place where it is against local law.'
The terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22 killed 26 people, most of whom were tourists. After this terrorist attack, the Indian government took several tough decisions, one of which was the ban on the YouTube channels and Instagram accounts of several Pakistanis who spread inflammatory and sensitive communal content.
