Indore, Jitu Patwari said- this is an undemocratic stepIndore: Congress is protesting against the government on many issues in Madhya Pradesh. In Madhya Pradesh, Congress is taking out Kisan Nyay Yatra in the matter of increasing the minimum support price of soybean, violation of land acquisition and illegal remarks against Rahul Gandhi. On Friday, on the very first day of the Yatra, the police stopped the tractors of the farmers by barricading in Indore.

Police stopped tractors by barricading
Actually, Indore Police did not allow farmers with tractors to enter the city for protest. As a result, a large number of farmers have reached the road coming towards Indore from Tejaji Nagar Sanwer Road and Depalpur area of the city with their tractors for protest. Here, Congress has reacted sharply to stopping the entry of farmers with tractors in Nyay Yatra. Here, in this matter, now the farmers are making videos of the arbitrariness of the police and barricading and making them viral. The same state Congress president Jeetu Patwari has advised them to intensify the protest on the spot.

Congress called it the government's arbitrariness

Congress alleges that the police is forcibly stopping the tractors of farmers coming to the event venue in Indore to join the Kisan Nyay Yatra being taken out by the Congress party from entering the city. Actually, Indore Police had offered to bring 5 tractors symbolically for the Kisan Nyay Yatra, but the Congress leaders first wanted to take out the Kisan Nyay Yatra with 150 tractors. However, later the Congress leaders had sought consent to reduce the number of tractors from 150 to 50, but the police administration did not allow bringing 50 tractors. However, after this the Congress is calling it the administration's arbitrariness.

Jeetu Patwari said - undemocratic step

Congress state president Jeetu Patwari tweeted on social media X and said that 'Tractors participating in the Kisan Nyay Yatra are being stopped all over Madhya Pradesh! Today in Indore too, the police is stopping tractors by putting up blockades at various places. Congress is taking out a tractor rally after taking permission. Tractors are coming according to the route told by the police-administration. Even after this, stopping the farmers is dogmatism. Mohan Bhaiya, these are the same farmers who have voted for you and made you the Chief Minister. I request you to listen to them. If you forcibly stop the tractors and suppress them, then it will be an undemocratic step!'

This is the reason for the protest

The then Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, in his announcement at the Panchayati Raj Conference in Rewa in April 2023, had said that 'the income of farmers has been doubled. Whereas in March 2022, the Central Parliamentary Committee gave this report in the Lok Sabha that Madhya Pradesh is a state in which the income of farmers has come down from Rs 9740 to Rs 8339 per family per month as compared to 2015-16. Congress alleges that BJP had also promised in its manifesto to fix the support price of wheat at ₹2700 per quintal and the support price of paddy at ₹3100 per quintal, but after winning the election, the government forgot this promise.
