Deoband (Saharanpur), Public Works Department will widen and strengthen the roads in Deoband area. An amount of Rs 49.70 crore will be spent on two roads. But after the roads are repaired, thousands of people of the area as well as travelers from other states and districts passing through the said routes will also benefit.
In Deoband, the road from Bastam to Rajupur via Diwalheri, Miragpur and Dudhli is narrow as well as broken. The said route is important due to high traffic. There was a demand for widening and repair of the road for a long time. The Public Works Department has started its process. The department will get the road widened and strengthened. This work will cost Rs 21.70 crore. Similarly, the road from Deoband to Uttarakhand via Bastam, Rastam, Bhawanpur, Bachiti, Shivpur was also affected due to its less width. The risk of accidents was also high. In such a situation, there was a demand for widening of the road. The Public Works Department has also taken the said route. The department will carry out widening and strengthening of the Uttarakhand border, on which Rs 28 crore will be spent. Thus, Rs 49.70 crore will be spent on both the routes. The work on both the routes will have to be completed within 15 months after the tender. Lakhs of commuters will benefit after the widening of the roads.
