wayanad election announcement
Election Commission will wait and watch the legal aspect
New Delhi, Surat court sentenced Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to 2 years in the Rahul Gandhi defamation case. After this, Rahul's parliament membership was canceled on Friday. He was a Lok Sabha member from Wayanad, Kerala. According to the information, before the announcement of Wayanad by-election, the Election Commission will also keep an eye on the legal aspect i.e. Rahul Gandhi's appeal in the upper court and the decision of the court. Actually, the Election Commission would not like that once the Wayanad by-election is announced, then the by-election has to be cancelled.
Recently, the Election Commission had to cancel the Lakshadweep by-election after the membership of the Lakshadweep MP was restored by the High Court. In fact, the membership of Lakshadweep MP Mohammad Faizal was terminated after the lower court impeached him. After this, the Election Commission announced the by-election. Then when Mohammad Faizal got relief from the High Court, the Election Commission had to withdraw its decision.
Eyes on Rahul Gandhi's next move
Wait and watch does not mean that the Election Commission will wait for several weeks, but wait and watch for the next few days to see the outcome of Rahul Gandhi's upcoming legal process. If there is no quick decision in the legal process of Rahul Gandhi, then the Election Commission will announce the by-election.
Know what is the whole matter
Let us inform that in 2019, while being a Lok Sabha member from Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi came to Kolar in Karnataka for election campaign. During this, while addressing an election rally, he had allegedly said, 'Why all thieves have Modi as their surname?'. A lot of politics took place after this statement. Then BJP MLA and former Gurjar minister Purnesh Modi filed a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi. He had alleged that Rahul Gandhi had insulted the entire Modi community with his statement.
